Ethiopia v Eritrea
The Horn of Africa is heating up, not in a good way though. Ethiopia as expelled 10 Eritrean diplomats and is shuttering the embassy. They have severed all diplomatic relations with their northern neighboring nemesis.
These two East African nations have been at each others necks for years, and the pot is boiling over. Ethiopia has accused Eritrea of stoking internal strife by backing the separatist Tigray rebels.
Blasts were heard in the streets of Addis Ababa, and Eritrean authorities have denied any involvement.

👑 THE ROYAL GROUP CHAT

Uganda's royal succession has entered the chat.
Uganda's Tooro Kingdom is preparing for a new HKIC (head king in charge) following the death of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who ruled for 31 years after becoming king as a small boy.
Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma, a former journalist, was selected by a succession committee to become the next king. But this choice has sparked a quarrell, with members of the late king's family questioning whether a young son should instead succeed him.
This story has a lot of people interested, because traditional institutions remain important cultural and social forces, and succession questions can touch on lineage, legitimacy and the future role of a kingdom. Here's the background from AllAfrica.
The Chop: This is the type of story that could make real good TV drama. I mean they could do a cool mini-series about this and I think peeps would enjoy it!

Dish of the Day 🥘

Ogbono Soup
Ogbono Soup is a popular dish in Nigeria. It is a delicious soup made from ground wild mango seeds- this is what gives the dish its notable slimy texture.
On our recent adventures, we were invited to a party and Ogbono was the main attraction - at least for us. The dish was savory, loaded with spices and heavy on the crayfish- delish!
💡Brain Chop: The Reveal
Answer: B) Omukama
In the Tooro and Bunyoro kingdoms of western Uganda, the monarch carries the royal title Omukama (meaning "the king" or "greatest ruler"). In contrast, Kabaka is the monarch of Buganda, Oba is used across Yoruba land and the Kingdom of Benin in Nigeria, and the Asantehene reigns over the Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana.
